PeerStream 5 Streaming Software

Traffic was never as cheap as today and more and more users own a broadband-connection to the internet using DSL or a dedicated line - that means now is the time for completely new applications which use these possibilities and offer the users new, interesting functionalities. Here the streaming of multimedia content has the most promising future - public live podcasts as well as Video-on-Demand (VoD) applications or professional content streaming.
So take part at this future and offer your homepages visitors interesting, useful, amusing and informative content via audio- or video broadcasts:

PeerStream 5 Server: Multiplatform, Multicast, Multimedia - Advanced Audio and Video Software Streaming and Podcasting Solutions

The ultimate streaming solution supporting Linux and Windows; streaming all audio-media (MP3, OGG, AAC, RealAudio, WMA, ...) all video media formats (RIFF AVI including DivX 3/4/5, Microsoft ASF/ASX/WMV, Apple QuickTime, RealNetworks RealVideo, Macromedia Shockwave, all other, not directly supported formats via the custom configuration possibilities) using all streaming methods (Unicast, Multicast/Live Podcast, UPnP™ shares, P2P/distributed network streams)

The PeerStream 5 Server technology is completely different to nearly all the other streaming server solutions out there: instead of having big amounts of fancy but mainly unimportant features that make the software huge and lazy it offers nearly everything that is necessary for (also very advanced) streaming solutions using a very slim codebase. Resulting from that the PeerStream 5 Server software is very fast and runs quick and smooth also on weak systems!

Beside of that we of course have some fancy but useful features you will not find easily somewhere else: the extended accounting and usermanagement, the stream grabber blocking functionality that avoids that special software grabs and saves your copyrighted streams and the automated switching between a master and a fallback stream are only three of them.

The Key Features:
  • Streams and relays nearly every streamable media format including custom, new formats that can be configured manually
  • Several different streaming modes like Unicast/Multicast Streaming, UPnP, Distributed Network (P2P) streaming
  • Extremely small and ressource saving - mainly only the number and bitrate of served streams is the limiting element related to the server hardwares bandwidth
  • Grab protection against grabbing and saving of streams - the software tries to detect if a player or a stream grabber accesses and does not serve anything in second case
  • User authentication and user accounting
  • Fallback Streams - you can let the software automatically switch between two streams, e.g. a live stream that has priority and is sent out every time it is available and a fallback stream that is sent when the first one is not available
  • Scalable - the same software package can be configured to run in very different environments: starting from a low traffic single server solution up to a high load server farm all can run the same software in different load-dependent configurations
